It is hexagonal and 2.4m across, so big enough for large scopes. Internal dimensions in mm: width 2200 Height to dome centre 2260 Base height to track 1200 Aperture width 600 The dome rotates through 360 degrees on 8 wheels on a track. The segment of track over the door can be removed to give access to the full height of the door to aperture top. The shutter rolls off to the rear on wheels. Lockable entrance. Four tie down points to stop the dome lifting in high winds. Drip skirt on dome to prevent water ingress Base frame is lined with Tyvek roofing fabric and clad with ship-lap. The whole structure is absolutely water tight, there has never been even a single drip leaking in. The dome is ply wood on specially cut formers, then finished with thin glass mat, resined and painted with aluminium paint. It works very well. The total height of the dome could be altered: either lowering it by cutting the base frame down, or made higher by adding to the base frame; it would be very simple to do. I built it in 2012 thinking this would do me for years, however, I have now decided to give up the hobby, so everything must go. It would need a team of strong men and a truck to move this assembly. It is up on a platform in my back garden.
