Rather than downgrading to an earlier version, I waited until one with reliable All-Star Polar Align (ASPA) for the CG5-GT came available, so this has firmware 1.12.14318 that works beautifully!} Mechanics and cosmetics: It's in superb finely-tuned condition throughout (as you'd expect anything of mine to be) and still has 9 months warranty having owned it from new. It regularly enabled me to capture *unguided* 1-minute subs with a 750mm focal length 'scope and DSLR -- see pre-July'14 images, all unguided, on www.flickr.com/photos/astroade/sets/72157637962932835/ Since the mount has a built-in ST4 port, just add your own autoguider for trail-free exposures of several minutes. I'm including a Celestron StarSense AutoAlign with mounting hardware for Vixen-style finder brackets or Celestron SCT tubes, replacement hand controller and a CG5-GT-specific Aux. Port adaptor. StarSense enables astounding GoTo accuracy for a mount in this class for both visual and photographic use. StarSense also comes with a lengthy warranty. The addition to the original advert (apart from the latest StarSense software) is an ADM Vixen-style saddle. This gives a much kinder, more positive grip to a dovetail bar -- unlike the vice-like jaws of the original that can lead to chewed rails. A vast improvement to the mount that also makes it easier to confidently swap OTAs in the dark. Finally, the CG5-GT head and two 5kg counterweights sits on a very stable 75cm custom-made pier with detachable legs by Orion Optics in the exact same black Hammerite finish as the GEM.
