I need to downgrade my like new Takahashi EM400, for a smaller mount as my plans and situation changed.

The EM400 has a payload of 85lbs photographic! It tracks perfectly: just using the polar scope (1 minute polar alignment) I get PE of less than 1 pixel!

I would be interested in trades for an AP Mach1GTO + difference in cash.

The EM400 is virtually new. In excellent conditions and used sparely. I have bought it NEW in March '09, so I have been the only owner. I am located in Italy and ship at buyer's expenses.

Canon 500mm f4 IS L (in EF mount)

For obvious reasons, serious buyers only for this item and collection only.

In mint condition, this is a Canon 500mm f4 IS L for Canon EF. Complete with Canon carry case, original box, hood (carbon fibre I think), and an extra tripod foot I purchased for £85, which lowers it's centre of gravity and also allows it to mount on a CG5 directly. A seriously nice lens, stunningly sharp. I will be sad to let it go, but a house purchase is in the wings and so it must be sold. :( Happy to let you test before purchase (in fact, I would prefer to know you were 100% happy before dropping such a large amount of wonga!), but please, no time-wasters who just want to have a play - serious buyers only.

The legendary AstroPhysics refractors are widely recognised as first class instruments and are highly prized with the current waiting list for these fine telescopes estimated to be about 7 years (yes really!!). SolarScope double stacked 50mm h-alpha filter set

I own two SolarScope double stacked h-alpha filter sets, a 70 and a 50mm and have placed the 50mm SolarScope double stacked h-alpha set up for sale at 3650. This price includes two 50mm etalons, a 20mm straight- thru blocking filter and original storage case. The metal cells show some signs of use but the optics are in excellent condition and the filter is a superb performer.

I also have the Borg 77 achromat that I use with the filter up for sale. It has a FeatherTouch focuser and also includes the adaptor to mount the filter set to the OTA. I am not interested in selling the Borg by itself, but will sell it with the filter set for a total of 3950. This includes the telescope, adaptor, and complete SolarScope 50mm double stacked filter set. The refractor has some marks on the OTA but the optics are in excellent condition.

I will be happy to email pictures upon request.

TMB 115mm APO Triplet Refractor complete with Stellavue 50mm right angle finderscope

I am selling my beloved Hand made TMB apo triplet 115mm "Lzos" len's serial number 140 complete with sertification of quality certificate which shows a Strehl Ratio of o,969. This is the famous Russian hand made lens system designed by late Thomas M Back of TMB Optical. I remember reading Thomas Back use to check most of the lens systems himself to ensure quality before they were allowed to be fitted into the tube assemblys.
This is the light weight model which are a farely recent design from TMB/APM weighing in at over 14Lb and comes complete with sliding dew shield with lock and retractable draw tube with the world famous 2in Starlight Feather Touch focuser and is binoviewer ready. These scopes are designed easy transport and mounting.
Focal length is 805mm F/7
Optical Tube is excellent condition.
The optics are also in excellent condition with the odd spec of dust which is common with hand figured optics, but nothing damaging or in anyway affecting the optical quality of the scope (please note the optics have not been cleaned.) The telescope was bought from Ted at Telescope House now the owner of Harrisons Telescopes which was his personnal scope and has been looked after.
There is the odd spec of paint missing from the lens cover which poorly sprayed on but nothing seroius.
It comes complete with Tube Rings and vixen/synta dove tail plate which is marked from use.

Finderscope bracket and Stellavue white right angle finderscope with removeable reticle eyepiece again with odd mark on tube from use and complete with dust covers. This is one of the best finderscopes you can buy today.

The original owner modified a Williams Optics Carry Case to accept this tube as these scopes did not come with one and it fits perfect and safe, please note the case was not new when modified.
The scope comes with a White CG5 mount with 1.75in steel legs and white weights which goes excellent with the TMB white tube. This mount is 10 months old bought from Orion UK Optics at a cost of £270.00

This set up would cost you £3740.00 Minimum.

TMB 115 F7 LW with very high 983 strehl as new with case.

This TMB 115 LW has a lens selected by Markus at APM and is as new in every respect (apart from normal clamping rail marks). It comes with test report: strehl 983, ptv 0,205, RMS 0,021. This is very high, even for a APM TMB. The lens was manufactured in Jan 2008. It has an APM finder bracket (but no finderscope) and a Celestron Aluminium case. This is the LW version of the scope with the 2” Feather Touch Focuser. A superb instrument that has LZOS optics from Russia - they were designed by the late Thomas Back and are hand figured, not mass produced in Taiwan.

The sliding draw tube allows the scope to be used with binoviewers without the need for a barlow lens, allowing for powers as low as 25x. This sliding draw tube also allows the scope to collapse down to a size much smaller than even normal 4” scopes (it also has a sliding dew shield).

My main use has been for planetary viewing with a Baader MkV binoviewer. The results from this have been superb; on nights of great seeing I was able to see good detail inside the Great Red Spot. The views from the moon on a night of perfect seeing, were truly incredible. The scope was completely happy at 277x through my binoviewer. The scope has no colour in or out of focus and cools down very quickly. The lens is unmarked and dust free.

Zeiss 110mm/f7 Comet Seeker objective/APM tube w. Feathertouch focuser & EZ Touch mount with hardwood tripod...

OK, I need to sell a few things that will hurt to let go of, and this is one of them.

This is a late 1930's/pre-war Zeiss (Jena) Comet Seeker objective in its' original phosphur bronze cell. It has been beautifully mounted into an APM tube, with a perfect Feathertouch 2-speed focuser. The focuser is mounted onto a long internal drawtube, which inserts into the main ota. This lets the scope collapse into a nice small package when in storage, and also allows for loads of in-focus for binoviewers. Sliding dew shield with an non-marking anchor screw is standard, a metal red dot finder is attached, and rings are included. A William Optics metal case is included for storage. The diagonal shown isn't included, but I can supply one. Optics are as you would expect, Zeiss-like.

This objective is more than a refractor lens, it is a top-spec. museum piece from a time when nobody was making fast achromats. I compared it to my TV-85 in a CN review here:

You may never see another one of these for sale again...and I'm painfully aware of that. Asking £1650 for the lot (or less if you don't want the mount). Collection is preferred, and I may consider very, very near offers if it is collected.

I have for sale Lunt Solar telescope LS60THa with blocking filter BF1200 and double stack etalon unit DS50 (factory matched). Both etalons are tunable and can work separately. Standard tuner (works very well). It provides h-alpha wavelenghts, <0.75A for single etalon and <0.55A when double stacked.
Outstandig views! The only reason of selling it is upgrade to bigger aperture.

Large brass Victorian 4"/F15 J.H. Steward refractor & eq mount...unmissable.

Meet my Summer 2010 project. Steward was active from the mid to late 1800's, and this remarkable refractor is a fine example.

Over the summer, and amongst other things, I was planning to build hardwood tripod legs for a Fullerscopes Mark III mounting...upon which this magical refractor will be hoisted high in the air. I realize the the Mark III could be considered a bit pedestrian for a scope like this, but it's a solid, simple equatorial...which I felt was what this scope needed.

However, because of an unexpected purchase, I have decided to offer this one as is, and give someone else the chance to finish the project.

The good points: It is in impeccable condition, with a wonderful patina. The drawtube rough focus and oversize focuser work well, as does the original finder focusing mechanism (if a bit stiff). It has a fully collimatable cell, and the original rings and anchor bolts are present. The Mark III mounting is an excellent example with nice smooth castings and no rust or tarnish. It is complete with gearing on both axes, and a typical Cruezet motor for the RA.

Things that need doing: Only the crown remains from the original lens, so this scope needs a objective (hence the reason it's not £2k). No eyepieces are provided, and an adaptor will need to be fabricated to accomodate eyepieces of the users choice. The mount needs painting, and a tripod needs fabricating for it.

As a lens replacement option, I can supply (at extra cost) the same lens I use in the Skylight F15, but while the diameter is the same, it's a bit deeper than the original, so the buyer will need to address the insertion process.

When this project is complete, it will be an impressive beast indeed. Asking £1395 for the project of a lifetime.
